About Our Founder & President

Richard T. York (Rik) is a visionary leader in education with over 20 years of experience driving academic excellence and student success. As an experienced school administrator and educator, he has a proven track record of integrating academics with career pathways to create meaningful student experiences that align with institutional goals and strategic plans.
​
Before founding Intentional Improvement Coaching and Consulting, Mr. York served as a district Administrator responsible coaching school leaders and directing school improvement initiatives, served as an Elementary School Principal and spent over a decade as a High School and Middle School English teacher. Passionate about leadership and innovation in education, he has led numerous academic teams and initiatives, always striving to improve student outcomes and educational systems.

With a results-driven approach and a commitment to continuous growth, Rik is dedicated to shaping the future of education through Intentional Improvement, bringing expertise, vision, and transformative solutions to schools and organizations. He utilizes his LSS Black Belt training to partner with K-16 education and organization to design process improvement projects.

Using data to acquire information, examine practices and identify solutions is an essential component in creating understanding for improvement.

Coaching begins as a cognitive progress with a participatory modeling component that leads to ongoing practice.

Personal leadership anchors all other forms leadership. Leadership impacts the lives of others; leadership is a skill which can be develop and supported through coaching.
